Founded in 1960, AV Thomas has seen incredible growth and has remained family owned and operated. They began with a small acreage of organic sweet potatoes in 1988 and have quickly become the largest grower, packer, shipper of organic sweet potatoes in the United States.

They were recently crowned Farm of Year for 2017 by The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts for their generous donations.

Thanks to their grandparents' thorough care of the soil in the 1920s, their third generation farms can follow in their footsteps of producing quality, fresh produce year-round.
The Matthews family has been growing sweet potato for over a hundred years. Their goal is to ensure quality, integrity, and customer service. Terris Matthews started farming as a fourth generation sweet potato farmer and while on a distribution run in Tennessee, he met Kim, who quickly became his sweetheart. And the rest is veggie history!
